Lynn Slavenski, Ph.D., Senior Consultant

Lynn is a senior consultant with Dr. Marilyn Buckner Consulting. As a former human resource executive, she brings a wealth of business experience to her coaching sessions. Previous to Dr. Buckner Consulting she was Sr. Vice President-Global Learning and Development and Chief Learning Officer of Equifax University where she led several strategic initiatives including a strategic selling program. She was formerly Head of Education and Career Development with Coca-Cola USA, and Head of Training for Blue Cross/Blue Shield.  Throughout her career she has been responsible for Sales Education and recently the rollout of a completely new go to market strategy with sales skills training and assessment at the core of it. She has done consulting with Dr. Buckner for coaching leaders and managers at Darden, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, DexMedia, AT&T/Cingular Wireless, Bell South Enterprises, BellSouth Corp, Department of Labor, Sanno Institute - Japan, Center for Disease Control, the American Red Cross, Prudential Bank, Georgia Tech, Fernbank Museum, Home Depot, Center for Puppetry Arts, and Campbell Soup. She has published seventeen articles including a chapter in Amacon’s HR Yearbook and has given over 40 presentations for professional organizations in the areas of assessment, coaching, career development, high potential development and, executive development. 

Lynn has advanced degrees in Career/Organizational and Human Resource Development and has her doctorate in management. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Lynn is active in the Human Resource Planning Society and serves on their board and has held officer position with the Executive Committee.

Ron Streiker, Ph.D., Executive Coach

For more than twenty years, Ron has been active in both the private and public sectors improving organizational infrastructures by means of executive coaching, human resources management, facilitation, goal attainment, and management development. 

Ron is an expert in the critical area of executive coaching and development. He has coached hundreds of executives through a variety of transitions including career advancement, performance issues and leadership development. Trained executives in coaching interventions, based on an action learning approach, which improved their management capabilities. Ron has educated numerous executives in the management of conflict and problem resolution resulting in improved morale and staff productivity. He has counseled numerous clients through significant transitions in their lives on a personal and professional level and has a proven track record in identifying executive needs and then targeting interventions in the areas of skill building, behavioral change and personal transformation.

Ron has been the Chief Human Resources Officer for a healthcare system and Director of Executive Development for Travelers Insurance. He has worked for years as an internal human resource professional and as an external management consultant, Ron brings a unique combination of skills and experiences. He has worked directly with senior management coaching them through all aspects of company mergers, management development, training and human resources integration. Ron brings both the capacity to develop the strategic design of an issue as well as move to practical solutions. A partial list of clients includes Nationwide Insurance, Deloitte, Home Depot, Huber, Southern Regional Medical System, Travelers, Nortel Networks, Hanover Insurance, Equity Financial, Fidelity Investments, Wachovia and Citigroup. He has developed coaching interventions for Citigroup.

Ron has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Southern Illinois University. He has served on the faculty of the University of Missouri where he taught courses on behavioral theory, statistics and management development and facilitated executive development seminars at the Cornell School of Industrial Relations. Ron has been an adjunct instructor for the University of Phoenix where he taught organizational leadership and management development. He is presently a member of the advisory board for both the overall Executive MBA program for the Coles School at Kennesaw State University and the Executive Coaching practice. Ron has conducted seminars across the country on a variety of topics including leadership development, group dynamics, strategic planning, effective teambuilding, negotiation, selection and coaching. Ron lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

Nicholas Horney, Ph.D. 

Nick provides consulting, leadership development and executive coaching that enable leaders, teams and organizations to build and maintain resilience and adaptability within a continuously turbulent and uncertain environment. Nick created a unique approach to executive coaching by applying a framework called the OODA Loop – Observe, Orient, Decide and Act.  Nick has led many strategic planning and transformation projects.

He served as Vice President of Client and Constituency Relations for the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) in Greensboro, NC.  In this capacity, Nick had the global responsibility for CCL’s alliances and partnerships, business development, marketing, and the client contact center. Nick worked directly with clients, partners and client relationship management (CRM) teams.  During his tenure, CCL was recognized by Business Week in 1999 and 2001 for delivering best-in-class leadership development products and services in the executive education marketplace.

Dr. Horney’s consulting/coaching experience spans over 20 years – Agility Consulting & Training, Coopers and Lybrand Consulting, Nicholas F. Horney & Associates and ODR, Inc.  He held senior leadership roles in Human Resources Development and Quality in the consumer products industry (Divisions of Nestle and Pepsi) and utility industry (the Salt River Project).  He currently serves as an Executive Coach for the Leadership Institute at the University of Central Florida. Nick co-authored a book in 2000 entitled Project Change Management, published by McGraw-Hill. He has authored or has been interviewed for various magazines and journals (e.g., The National Productivity Review, Training and Development Journal, CIO Magazine, Bank Marketing Magazine, etc.) addressing leadership development and organizational change management challenges. His academic experience includes adjunct faculty work at Cornell University and Rochester Institute of Technology.  He also helped create the criteria for university programs in hospitality and served on the original Hospitality Accreditation Commission.

Nick’s passion for agility was developed during his 23-years in the Navy leading diving and explosive ordnance disposal teams. Nick retired from the U.S. Navy reserves at the rank of Captain. The Secretary of Commerce appointed Nick to the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, where he served for two years. He also helped establish and served as a judge for the USA Today Quality Cup Award for ten years.

Nick serves on the Board of the Human Resources Planning Society (HRPS) and is a co-chair of the HRPS Affiliate organizations worldwide.

He received his Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of South Florida.

 

Thomas O’Shea, CMC 

Tom is dedicated to helping clients make the strategic transformation to becoming more Agile … at the enterprise, team and individual leader levels. Tom specializes in strategic business development, leadership agility and organizational improvement strategies.

He has more than 25 years working in the fast-paced consumer products industry – particularly in the apparel trade with industry leaders VF Corporation and Kayser-Roth Corporation. Tom has lived an international lifestyle having spent seven years in Japan during his youth and two years in England during the late 1980’s heading up the European Division Human Resources, Business Planning and Total Quality initiatives for the world’s largest apparel company. His consulting industry experience base includes textiles, footwear, managed services, transportation, fast food and financial services.

Tom's diverse background includes senior executive roles as VP Human Resources, Corporate VP of Business Planning & Development and VP/General Manager of a nearly $100 million business unit.  Additional experience depth includes new product innovation, go-to-market planning, integrated performance management processes and total quality management design and implementation. His background includes early career accomplishments as Director of Compensation for a billion-dollar, 20,000 employee apparel company ~ providing project leadership in complete overhaul of executive compensation and performance management programs to create closer alignment and integration with new corporate strategic direction.  

Tom has a master's degree in Organizational Psychology and extensive practical experience helping organizations and leaders re-focus business strategy to improve organization performance and alignment. Tom also has extensive experience in helping organizations compete in the major retail and international markets – with a keen interest in emerging technologies. He has been active in the sporting goods retail channel and in leadership roles within community and state level non-profit organizations. Tom was recently named to the U.S. Adult Soccer Veteran’s Cup Committee – he has been (and is) an avid player and coach for many years.

Tom is a partner with Agility Consulting and is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) – a distinction awarded to less than 10% of professional management consultants. He was recently re-elected President of the Carolinas Chapter of the Institute for Management Consultants – the premier international association of professional management consultants.
